minulo for iPhone

Hide Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, keep your DMs

minulo hides Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok recommendations and suggested posts, while you keep using DMs, friends' posts, your own posts and search. It is made by a solo developer for people who need social media for messages but keep losing time to endless short videos.

What it does

• Opens the official websites of 10 networks (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Threads, Facebook, Pinterest, Reddit, LinkedIn, Snapchat) inside the app, with Reels, Shorts, Explore and suggested posts hidden. You choose what to hide, one item at a time.

• Uses iPhone Screen Time to stop the official apps you choose from opening. The "Blocked" screen offers "Open in minulo", which takes you to a Reels-free view.

• Reels or Shorts sent in DMs pause before the endless feed; "Open for 5 min" lets you watch for five minutes.

• You sign in on each network's official page. minulo never receives or stores IDs, passwords or DM contents.

Free and Pro

Hiding Reels, Shorts and suggested posts is free, and so is blocking the official apps for up to 2 hours at a time. minulo Pro adds schedules, longer blocks, Locked Mode and blocking social media completely.

Good to know

No app can change the official Instagram app itself; minulo locks it with Screen Time and opens a Reels-free Instagram instead. iPhone (iOS 16.4 or later), with a Mac app and a Chrome extension. No Android version. Available in 13 languages.
